Spring arrived on Wednesday, 20th of March. It is a season that has always been seen as a symbol of rebirth and renewal in which we can see many interesting transformations in Nature.
We welcomed Spring with many interesting activities which you can remember here....
- First and second grade students listened the "Spring" story and they role played it, to introduce some animals names and Spring transformations. Os alunos de 1ºano ouviram a história da Primavera e representaram-na, para apresentar nomes de alguns animais e transformações da Primavera.
- Third and fourth grade students listened to a song related to Spring and completed a gap filling exercise. Then they sang and dramatised the song. Os terceiros e quartos anos ouviram uma música e realizaram um exercício de preenchimento de espaços. Depois cantaram e dramatizaram a música, exercício no qual se divertiram bastante!
- To work on Spring transformations we played a game in which students heard several sentences about seasons. They had to stand up and say "Spring" when it was a sentence related to this season(for example: Flowers blossom) and they had to freeze when the sentence wasn't about Spring( It snows). Para trabalhar as transformações da Primavera jogamos um jogo em que os alunos ouviam várias frases sobre as estações do ano. Tinham de se levantar e dizer "Spring" quando se tratava de uma frase sobre esta estação(por exemplo: flowers blossom) e tinham de "congelar" quando a frase não era sobre a Primavera.( por exemplo: It snows).
- By describing the changes in nature that take place by this time, we introduced the new season: spring. Then, we illustrated the vocabulary worked in classes and made some flowers for the spring display.
