2014/2015

 A year passed by, but here we are again to share the main moments of our English classes. We hope you visit us often and that you enjoy the activities performed by English primary students!

Depois de um ano de ausência, aqui estamos novamente para partilhar os principais momentos das aulas de Inglês.

FARM ANIMALS; OLD MACDONALD

FARM ANIMALS

Third grade students learned some farm animals names.
As usual, we played several games to practise them. One of the games was a board game.In this game, they had to throw the dice and if they guessed the name of the animal or a body part they won a card. The winner of the game was the student who gathered more cards. Students  really had fun playing it!

Os alunos de 3º ano aprenderam os nomes de alguns animais da quinta. Como habitual, jogamos vários jogos para praticar o vocabulário. Um deles foi um jogo de tabuleiro, em que os alunos tinham de lançar o dado e se adivinhassem o nome do animal ou uma pare do corpo ganhavam um cartão. O vencedor do jogo era o aluno que reunisse mais cartões. Os alunos adoraram o jogo!

 

 

 

We also learned and dramatised the song "Old MacDonald had a farm" . Também aprendemos e dramatizamos a música "Old Macdonald had a farm".

First, second and third graders are learning/revising body parts so I used a well known song to help them memorize which is called "Head, shoulders, knees and toes". They all loved it! Listen and enjoy!

O 1º,2º e 3º ano aprenderam as partes do corpo por isso usei uma canção muito conhecida para os ajudar a memorizar as partes do corpo em inglês. Chama-se "Head,soulders,knees and toes" (cabeça, ombros, joelhos e pés).

My dream house

Fourth grade students are working on the house and furniture subject so I asked them to imagine their dream house and to
describe it. Here are their works.Congratulations! There very nice works and presentations!

Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day.
Mother's Day is a celebration honoring mothers and motherhood,
maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.

Mother's Day history...
The modern holiday of Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in Grafton, West Virginia, United States of America. She began a campaign to make "Mother's Day" a recognized holiday in the United States and she was successful in 1914.  In the United States of America it is celebrated on the second Sunday of May and in the United Kingdom it is celebrated in March.

Hoje é Dia da Mãe.
O Dia da Mãe é uma celebração que homenageia as mães e a meternidade, os laços maternais e a influência das mães na sociedade.

História
A festividade moderna do Dia da Mãe foi celebrada pela primeira vez em 1908, quando Anna Jarvis fez uma homenagem à sua mãe em Grafton, West Virginia nos Estados Unidos da América. Ela deu início a uma campanha para tornar o Dia da Mãe uma festividade reconhecida nos EUA e foi bem sucedida em 1914. Nos Estados Unidos da América é celebrado no segundo Domingo de Maio e no Reino Unido é celebrado em Março.
