Clothes... out of the closet

What if I brought a famous "Disney's" character to help me remember third graders of clothes vocabulary?

Of course it would be nice!!! And it was!! Mums? Dads? Can you remember which film this closet belongs to?? Let's check your memories ;)

They also coloured the pieces and wrote sentences about their choices... Very well, boys and girls!!! 

E se eu trouxesse uma famosa personagem "Disney" para me ajudar a relembrar os alunos de terceiro ano do vocabulário "roupas"?

Claro que seria engraçado!!! E foi!! Mamãs? Papás? Conseguem lembrar-se a que filme pertence este armário?? Vamos lá testar as vossas memórias ;)

Eles também coloriram as peças e escreveram frases acerca das suas escolhas... Muito bem, meninos e meninas!!

My closet

What better way to practice "clothes" vocabulary, than to create a closet for each student? They love it! 

"My closet" is always a popular activity and allows teacher and students to explore activities and to practice orality. 

Just look for yourself, the commitment of these paintings...

And to play "memory game", "bingo game", "buy and sell"... 45 minutes is never enough...

Que melhor maneira de praticar o vocabulário "roupas", do que criar um armário para cada aluno? Eles adoram!

"O meu armário" é sempre uma atividade popular e permite a professora e alunos explorar atividades e praticar a componente da oralidade.

Olhem vocês mesmos, o empenho destas pinturas...

E para jogar "jogo da memória", "bingo" e "compra e venda"... 45 minutos nunca são suficientes...

Carnival Time…

Time to have fun!

Although Carnival it's not a popular festivity in the UK, it is celebrated with joy in all Portuguese schools. So, we talked about it in our English classes, working it once more in collaboration with primary teachers and the other AEC teachers. In our English classes students learned vocabulary related to this festivity namely some costumes names. Then they made some works to decorate the school gym.

 

Apesar de não ser uma festividade tipicamente inglesa, o Carnaval é celebrado com alegria em todas as escolas portuguesas. Por isso, falamos sobre isso nas nossas aulas de Inglês, trabalhando uma vez mais em articulação com os professores titulares e as outras AECS. Nas aulas de inglês os alunos aprenderam vocabulário relacionado com esta festividade nomeadamente o nome de algumas máscaras. Depois, fizeram alguns trabalhos para decorar o ginásio da escola.

 

• first grade students listened the story "Ben the Clown" and learned some vocabulary related to Carnival. Os   alunos de 1ºano ouviram a história "Ben the clown" e aprenderam vocabulário sobre o Carnaval.

• Third grade students were learning clothes so I related the subject with Carnival and we talked about Carnival costumes. Students coloured a Carnival costume, learned its name and described it to the class. Os alunos do 3º ano estavam a trabalhar o tema das roupas por isso relacionamos o tema com o Carnaval e falamos sobre fatos de Carnaval. Os alunos pintaram um disfarce de Carnaval, aprenderam o seu nome e descreveram-no para a turma.

Example: I am a pirate. I am wearing black trousers, a white shirt, black boots and a black hat.

Clothes

Clothes...  It's was cold and we had to protect our body. So, third graders learnt to name some pieces of clothing. We made some clothes, and then played some games. Then, we put the clothes in the clothes line.

Roupas... Estava frio e tínhamos de proteger o nosso corpo. Assim, os 3º anos de Balselhas aprenderam a identificar algumas peças de roupa e depois jogamos a alguns jogos. De seguida, estendemos a roupa no nosso estendal.

 

Then, we talked about what we are wearing. We described ourselves and then presented it to the class.
Depois, falamos sobre as roupas que estamos a usar. Descrevemo-nos e depois apresentámo-lo a toda a turma.
