Means of transport

We are learnig various means of transport. It's a very interesting theme for us. Each one of us chose a diferent mean of transport to build this panel. What do you think of it? We worked hard for this beautiful drawings.

Estamos a aprender os vários meios de transporte. É um tema bastante interessante para nós. Cada um de nós escolheu um transporte diferente e construiu este painel. O que achas? Esforçámo-nos bastante para estes belos desenhos.

Father´s Day Retorta

To celebrate Father's day, we invited them for "a boat trip". Each student made their boat, using different materials and decorating them at their will. Here are some of the masterpieces.  

Para celebrar o dia do Pai, convidámo-lo para um passeio de barco. Cada aluno construiu o seu barco com materiais diversos e decoraram-no a seu gosto. Aqui estão algumas obras-primas.

 

 

 

 

 

Colours

Knowing colours is fundamental… Colours are everywhere! So, it’s also very important to identify colours while learning the English language. Here is one of the classroom posters we made on Colours.

Conhecer as cores é fundamental… As cores estão por todo o lado! Assim, também é muito importante conseguir identificar as cores em Inglês! Aqui está um dos cartazes de sala de aula que construímos sobre as cores.    

We also learnt some songs. One of the songs used to work colours was "The rainbow Song". Do you remember the song? Here it is! Red and yellow, pink and green…

Students also listened to the story "Brown Bear, Brown bear, what do you see?” or “Charlie, the chameleon”. Let’s listen to one of them again…

 We talked about favourite colours and made some drawings or pictograms about it. Here are some pictures of the students’ work.

Numbers

Numbers… 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10! Numbers are everywhere we are! Once again, students remembered or learnt to count in English. Then we made a class poster to help us remember the numbers. Here is one of the many examples…

Números… 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10! Os números estão em todo o lado! E por isso, os alunos relembraram ou aprenderam a contar em Inglês. Depois construímos um cartaz de sala de aula para nos ajudar a memorizar os números. Aqui fica um dos muitos exemplos…

 

 

 

One of the best ways to learn is by singing songs. So, this year we learnt “The Number Song”. Let’s sing it again…

We also listened to the story “Ten in the bed”, which was role-played by first graders from Balselhas to the whole school, at the Christmas Party. We all had fun doing it! Nós também ouvimos a história “Ten in the bed”, que foi depois dramatizada pelos alunos do 1º ano de Balselhas para toda a escola, na Festa de Natal. Foi muito divertido, não foi?

 

Alphabet

Third and Fourth grade students learned the alphabet through some songs. They learned the song really well and they enjoyed it a lot. Let’s hear it once again. Here it is.

Os alunos do terceiro e quartos anos aprenderam o alfabeto inglês através de algumas músicas. Eles aprenderam as músicas muito bem e divertiram-se ao mesmo tempo! Vamos ouvi-la mais uma vez. Aqui está! 

 

 

 

Greetings and Introductions

New schools, new students! We had to introduce ourselves! Students from Balselhas and 2^nd graders from Outeiro started this topic by presenting themselves through some songs and games such as "Pass the ball" Do you remember them? Let's sing the songs!
Escolas novas, turmas novas! Como tal, tivemos que nos apresentar. Os alunos de Balselhas e os do 2º ano do Outeiro começaram este tema apresentando-se através da entoação de algumas músicas e jogos, tais como "Passa a bola". Lembram-se? Vamos lá cantar então!

 

 

 

Then, students coloured a "name tag" to help us remember their names because they are so many and we´re terrible with names.
Depois de se apresentarem os alunos os alunos construíram uns cartões com os seus nomes para facilitar a sua memorização, já que eles são imensos e nós somos uma desgraça no que toca a saber nomes!

 

This is me…

 

To get to know ourselves a little better, students were asked to start the poster “This is me” on the first lessons. I say started, because it was later improved as new topics were being introduced.

Para nos conhecermos melhor, os alunos começaram a elaborar um cartaz “Este sou eu…”, logo nas primeiras aulas. E digo começaram, porque o trabalho foi mais tarde melhorado, à medida que novos assuntos foram sendo abordados.

 

We started by drawing ourselves and identifying our names. Then, we played the game “Who’s who?”. And we enjoyed discovering our friends, didn’t we? The project was later improved. Students added other information about them, such as, age, birthday, favourite colour, body description, etc. Then, they did their first oral presentation to the whole class. They were nervous, but at the end they all wanted to do it again! It was fun! Here are some examples of their work.

Começamos por nos desenharmos a nós próprios e por identificar o nosso nome. Depois, jogamos ao jogo “Quem é quem?”. E nós gostamos de descobrir os nossos amigos, não foi? Este trabalho foi mais tarde melhorado. Os alunos, à medida que os assuntos iam sendo abordados, foram acrescentando mais informações sobre eles, tais como, idade, aniversário, cor favorita, descrição do corpo, etc. De seguida, os alunos fizeram a sua primeira apresentação oral para toda a turma. Estávamos todos nervosos, mas no fim todos queríamos repetir. Foi uma experiência divertida! Aqui ficam alguns dos seus trabalhos.
